FAQ

Q: How much does a tattoo cost?

A: We charge based on an hourly rate of $120/hr plus tax. We have a $100 minimum for all tattoos regardless of size. We accept card only. Upon request your artist will give you their best estimate of how much your tattoo will cost. Factors that determine how long a tattoo takes/how much it will cost include size, location, and amount of detail.

Q: Do you take walk-ins?

A: We take limited walk-ins and consultations Wednesday/Thursday 12-6 p.m. and Friday/Saturday 12-8 p.m. Call ahead for availability.

Q: How do I set an appointment?

A: To set an appointment, please contact your preferred artist directly. Contact info for each artist is provided on their portfolio pages and on the contact page. When reaching out please include a brief description of the tattoo you would like to get and any reference images you may have.

Q: What should I bring to my appointment?

A: The most important thing to bring is your ID, since you cannot be tattooed without it, and whichever form of payment you are using. Other than than that, we ask that you limit the personal items you bring with you as much as possible. Eating and drinking will not be allowed in the shop; please hydrate and eat a healthy meal beforehand. Please dress in a manner that will allow your artist to easily access the area being tattooed.

Q: Do you do piercings?

A: At this time, no. While we have offered piercing services in the past, new regulations currently prohibit us from performing most piercings. Piercings may be available again in the future, but we currently have no estimate of when that will be.

Q: Do you tattoo minors?

A: No. You must be 18 years of age or older with a valid state ID to get a tattoo. If you do not bring your ID to your appointment, you will not be tattooed. No exceptions!

Q: How is Gem City responding to the COVID-19 pandemic?

A: As alluded to in some of the above questions, GCTC has made many changes to our policies and procedures in compliance with new state regulations. The health and safety of our clients, artists, and their families is of the utmost concern to us. For more information on our new policies and procedures, please visit our COVID-19 Response page.
